The 74th International Polyphonic Competition “Guido d’Arezzo” will take place in Arezzo from August 18 to 23, 2026. Organized by the Guido d’Arezzo Foundation, the event is the oldest choral competition in Europe and will bring together choirs, conductors, and musicians from around the world.
Founded in 1952 by the Arezzo Friends of Music Association, it is the oldest and one of the most important choral singing festivals in Europe. It is dedicated to Guido Monaco (Guido d’Arezzo), the famous Arezzo native and the father of modern musical notation, still used today.
The competition is held in several locations. From our facility, the Petrarca Theater, the Basilica of San Domenico, the Guido d’Arezzo Foundation, and the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Donato are all within easy walking distance. The Congress and Convention Center (2 km), Subbiano (16 km), Ponticino (15 km), and Sansepolcro (37 km) are also just a few kilometers away by car.
